Hi Everyone!
I am sending the email out below on behalf of Barry, please read it and come on down to Houston with your administrators!!!

Please nominate your principal or district administrator to attend the 5th annual school administrators' mini-conference: "Strong Libraries, Strong Scores".

The mini-conference will be part of the Texas Library Association (TLA) Annual Conference held in Houston. The date of the school administrators' conference is April 1, 2009, from 10:15 AM to 1:30 PM. Then we want you to accompany your administrator to tour the Exhibit Hall and maybe attend another session at the TLA Conference.

Your administrators will be given the latest research on good School Library Programs equaling higher student achievement scores by Keith Curry Lance. Then they will be treated to some very useful information about Teacher/Librarian collaboration by Dr. Marla McGhee (author of the very useful book The Principal's Guide to a Powerful Library Media Program). Your administrators will end the mini-conference with presentations and discussions about practical applications of a good Library program on campus. The presentations and discussions will be by current and recently practicing principals and Librarians at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

The previous Strong Libraries, Strong Scores conferences have changed administrators' attitudes toward Libraries and Librarians for the better. Please nominate your principal, central office administrator, or trustee.
